Functions
Bones belong to the supportive structures of the body. They appear to be passive, but bones are organs that come in different shapes and fulfill many important functions.

- Together with muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments the bones are responsible to move the body.
- Bones protect the body, especially inner organs. The skull for example protects the brain.
- Bones produce blood cells. This process is called "Haematopoiesis".
- Bones serve as storage for minerals such as Calcium and Phosphorus.
