"@Hondoman. You´re right, using a free barbell is more common. On the other hand I think the smith press variation puts more demand on the stabilizers because you cannot move along the "natural" path."
"Can be even better with a "free floating" barbell, rather than a smith machine. Good exercise, nonetheless."
